What happened?
WGCU reports Lee County Human & Veteran Services, LeeTran, and the Lee County Library System expanded heat-related assistance for people experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable residents. Cooling buses are available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Wednesday, June 24 in Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, and North Fort Myers, while libraries in Fort Myers and North Fort Myers are also serving as cooling spaces. County outreach teams are also distributing drinking water and cooling wraps.
